Want to know how to do gel polish nails? Take a look at the gel polish step by step, and you'll see it's not that difficult. With us, gel polish manicure at home will be pure pleasure! You just need to get the necessary products.
STEP 1
Prepare the nail and cuticles - shape the nails to your desired shape using a Semilac straight file. Then gently push back the cuticles with wooden sticks, and remove any remaining unsightly cuticle with a cuticle nipper. Mat the nail plate with a Semilac Quality polisher block, and remove any dust with a soft brush. After dusting the entire nail plate, degrease it with a lint-free wipe soaked in Semilac Nail Cleaner and, if necessary, apply a non-acid primer to improve the adhesion of the gel polish. Wait a few seconds until the primer evaporates, then proceed to apply the base coat.
STEP 2
Apply a thin layer of any Semilac base coat on the entire nail, making sure to protect the free edge of the nail. Cure it under the lamp. Pay attention to the curing time of the product, which depends on the type of base coat and lamp used. You will find information about the curing time on the semilac.co.uk website, for the product you are interested in.
STEP 3
Then, simply apply a thin layer of Semilac gel polish, making sure to protect the free edge of the nail, and cure it under the lamp. After curing the product, apply another thin layer of gel polish, which will intensify the colour depth, and cure it again under a UV or LED lamp. How long to cure each layer? This time depends on the type of gel polish colour used and the type of lamp (LED shortens this time even to 30 seconds per layer!).
STEP 4
Apply any top coat on the properly cured gel polish layer, carefully protecting the free edge of the nail to prevent flooding the cuticles, and cure it under the lamp. If you use Semilac Top or Semilac Top Mat, remove the dispersion layer with a lint-free wipe soaked in Semilac Nail Cleaner. The top coat should not be sticky. After finishing the manicure, use cuticle oil and apply hand cream to nourish and firm the skin of your hands.

REMOVING GEL POLISH STEP BY STEP: THE NECESSARY PRODUCTS TO REMOVE GEL POLISH
When you notice an unsightly regrowth on your nails, it's a sign to remove the gel polish.
We'll show you how to do this procedure correctly without damaging your nails.
STEP 1
Gently buff the top layer of the manicure, for example, using a Semilac Quality 100/180 straight file.
STEP 2
Then saturate the Semilac Remover Wraps with Semilac acetone or gel polish remover. Wrap each finger quickly and efficiently with aluminium foil and wait about 10-15 minutes.
STEP 3
Gently remove the softened gel polish with a wooden stick or a Semilac Pusher. Finally, gently smooth the nail surface with a Semilac Quality polisher block.
