Christmas nails 2026 are all about colour you can feel: a red that glows, a navy that sparkles like a frosty night and a gold that catches every fairy light. Below are 10 festive looks you can paint at home with UV gel polish, from a one-colour red to a tree accent nail. Each one comes with the exact shades and a simple way to paint it. The short version
10 looks, 8 new shades
Pick a red, a navy, a green or a gold. Paint it in gel, cure each layer, seal the free edge. A gel manicure lasts up to 21 days, so a set painted from 4 December can carry you to Christmas Day.
Most looks here use the eight new festive shades, including the 1000th Semilac colour, 1000 Golden Mist. You will also find a few long-time favourites, because a classic red still wins the office party. New to gel? Read our guide to DIY festive nail designs first, then come back for the shades.
1. Pixie Red: the one-colour Christmas red

1007 Pixie Red with 1006 Candy Cane Flame on the accent nails.
If you paint one look this year, make it this one. 1007 Pixie Red is a bright, neon-leaning red with full cover, so two thin coats give you a deep, even finish. It reads as cheerful rather than serious, which makes it perfect for Christmas jumpers and family lunches.
- Prep, then apply a thin base coat and cure.
- Paint two thin coats of 1007 Pixie Red, curing after each one.
- Finish with a no wipe top coat for a glassy shine, and cap the free edge.
Make it sparkle
Swap the clear top for Top No Wipe Sparkle Diamond. Roll the bottle between your palms instead of shaking it, so the flecks spread evenly. A second layer gives more sparkle.

2. Candy Cane Flame cat eye
1006 Candy Cane Flame is a red cat eye with multicolour reflections. Hold a magnet over the wet polish and a band of light moves across the nail, like a bauble turning on the tree. It is one of the most eye-catching shades in the collection.
- Paint one coat of 1006 over your cured base.
- Before you cure, hold the magnet over the nail for a few seconds. Then cure.
- Repeat with a second coat, move the magnet the same way, cure, then top coat.
For a full walk-through of magnet positions, see how to do cat eye nails. Pair two fingers of 1006 with three of 1007 Pixie Red and you have a bold red set with a magnetic glow.

3. The Christmas tree accent nail

Red, a champagne cat eye accent and one green glitter tree nail. Shades 1007, 1000 and 1003.
This is a look for the Christmas table. Paint most nails in 1007 Pixie Red, one in 1000 Golden Mist and draw a simple tree on the ring finger with 1003 Holiday Glitter. A tree is just a tall triangle, so you do not need an art degree.
- Paint the ring finger in a nude cover base and cure.
- With a flat, rounded-tip brush such as the Basic Gel Flat brush, draw a triangle in 1003 Holiday Glitter. Cure.
- Add a second coat inside the triangle for depth, cure, then seal with top coat.

4. Navy and gold French

A navy French with a champagne-silver line. Shades 1001 Bright Night and 1000 Golden Mist.
Classy Christmas nails do not need red. A deep navy tip over a soft nude looks elegant with black tie and simple jeans alike. Use 964 Jelly Nude as a sheer, healthy base, then paint the tips in 1001 Bright Night.
- Apply two thin coats of 964 Jelly Nude, curing each.
- Paint a curved navy tip with 1001 Bright Night and cure.
- Trace a thin line of 1000 Golden Mist where navy meets nude. Cure, then top coat.
Steady hand trick
Rest the side of your painting hand on the table and turn the finger, not the brush. The curve comes out smoother.

5. Midnight sparkle with Bright Night

Bright Night on every nail, with Jelly Night for a sheer blue accent.
1001 Bright Night is deep navy packed with blue glitter, so a full set looks like a winter sky. For contrast, paint one nail in 1002 Jelly Night, a cobalt jelly that lets light through.

6. Golden Mist, the 1000th shade

1000 Golden Mist: champagne and silver in one cat eye.
Semilac's 1000th colour is a champagne-silver cat eye. Under the magnet it shows a soft band of light, and once Top No Wipe Real Colour goes on you see cool silvery reflections with a warm golden glow. A subtle way to add festive shine.
Want a more glazed finish? Cure your colour, then use Top No Wipe Silver Gloss T35. It is magnetic too, so hold the magnet over it before curing, and cure it twice.

7. Green and gold star

Bottle green, green glitter and a small champagne-gold star. Shades 1004, 1003, 1000 and 964.
Green is the colour most people skip, and it is a rich, festive choice. 1004 Dark Green is an opaque bottle green, rich like a velvet ribbon. Add 1003 Holiday Glitter on one or two nails and a small star in 1000 Golden Mist on a 964 Jelly Nude nail for the finishing touch.
Velvet finish
Seal the dark green nails with Top Mat Total and keep the glitter nails glossy. Matte next to shine gives a strong contrast.

8. Candy red and pink with a bow

A playful mix of red and pink, made for present wrapping.
Not every Christmas look has to be dark. Pair 1007 Pixie Red with a soft pink such as Collagen Base Soft Pink and you get a candy-shop set that feels young and fun. Add a single nail of 1006 Candy Cane Flame for a little shine, or a Sparkle Diamond top over the pink nails only.

9. Winter Eclipse for the party season
1005 Winter Eclipse is the wild card of the collection: a clear base with black specks and red magnetic particles. Paint it over 1007 Pixie Red or a dark red such as 071 Deep Red and experiment with the magnet. The result looks deep and mysterious, perfect for New Year's Eve.

10. Classic red, burgundy and glitter
Sometimes only the classic will do. 027 Intense Red and 039 Sexy Red are true reds, 083 Burgundy Wine is a dark burgundy and 318 Burgundy Red Glitter gives a dense glitter accent. The Chrome Nails Set Christmas Edition adds gold, brown, burgundy and cinnamon chrome for chrome-effect nails. For a first gel kit, the starter sets come with a lamp and three full-size colours.
How to help your Christmas nails last
- Prep well. Push back cuticles, buff away the shine and wipe with Cleaner before base.
- Keep every layer thin. Thick coats are more likely to lift.
- Cap the free edge with each coat, including the top coat.
- Wear gloves for washing up and oil your cuticles every evening.
